About Us - Temple Emanu-El

We are a Reform congregation serving Southeastern Connecticut and Western Rhode Island. Our members primarily live in Waterford, New London, Groton, Ledyard, East Lyme, Old Lyme, Stonington, Westerly, RI, and other surrounding towns. We are conveniently located near I95 and 395.

Temple Emanu-El strives to offer a Reform Jewish connection for everyone: meaningful Shabbat and Festival services, education for children and adults, social action activities and projects, active Sisterhood, Brotherhood, and social programs. We also routinely offer Introduction to Judaism courses and pathways to conversion for those interested in learning more about Judaism or joining the Jewish people.

Although we are a Reform congregation, our members come from diverse backgrounds, ranging from highly traditional to secular and non-religious. We welcome Jewish individuals and families of all kinds. No one is denied membership for financial reasons. There is a place for everyone at Temple Emanu-El.
