What is special about the month of Adar?
For one thing it’s Purim!!
We were so lucky to have Sam Winograd write our Purim Spiel this year. What a great performance! We were also blessed to have Roz Etra leading music in between acts, and community members entertaining us with the Megillah reading. It was a fun evening.

Bread & Torah Shabbaton, March 8–10, 2024
What a great weekend!
The Bread and Torah program on March 8-10 was amazing! Our team did a great job with the planning of this event. There was something for all ages. From feeding our physical body with challah that we mad ourselves, to feeding our soul with words of Torah. From the art and care of feeding the larger community to the solitude of the art of scribing the sacred letters and words of Torah. It was a fulfilling Artist in Residence program with Rabbi Linda Motzkin and Rabbi Jonathan Rubenstein!

Temple Deli Day – May 2023
Temple Emanu-El’s Deli Day was a great event enjoyed by all who attended! A special thank you to author Ted Merwin for a fascinating presentation about his book Pastrami On Rye: An Overstuffed History of the Jewish Deli. And thanks to all who helped organize, prep and serve a yummy deli lunch afterwards! See below for photos and the flyer describing the event.

Cabaret 2023 – Feb.4
CABARET!!! Saturday, February 4, 2023
After a two-year hiatus, it was delightful for the community to be able to gather in person at Temple Emanu-El’s 8th Annual Cabaret Night on Saturday, February 4, 2023. Over 60 attendees braved the frigid weather and enjoyed appetizers, Havdalah, a variety show and desserts. Thank you for the beautiful voices, soothing music, sentimental and dramatic spoken words, entertaining stories and comedy, not to mention an awe-inspiring Rabbinic juggling act! We are grateful to the following people for sharing their talent and support: Jonathan Rowe, Richard Simonson, Phyllis Holtzman, Barry Weiner, Marc Goldsmith, Sean Bendick, Matthew Barnes, Harvey Schiller, Rabbi Marc Ekstrand, Beca Reinhard, Chris Rock, Hunter Rock, Nathaniel Rowe, Judd Rosen, Jonathan Rowe, Rabbi Susan Schein, Marcia Reinhard, Rachel Levy and Rabbi Ken Alter.
Thank you to Dona Casey for her help in the kitchen and Don Kasper and Roberta Reisner-Winograd for their assistance with our plans. Thanks to our Cabaret Night volunteers who helped with the technical and prep aspects of our event: Sean Bendick, Chris Rock, Hunter Rock, Jonathan Rowe, Nathaniel Rowe, Jennifer Zettler, Scott Zettler and Omer Zohar. Thank you to Steve and Gail Weber and Minuteman Press for their help printing the beautiful Cabaret Night reminder postcards.
