Shabbat Mornings – Prayer, Practice and Prophets
Shabbat morning services will return after the High Holy Days beginning November 16th on the first and third Shabbat of each month. Our mornings will begin with a pot luck breakfast at 8:30. Our service will begin at 9:00. It will not be a full service. Rather, we will pick one part of the service each week and explore the fixed prayers through song, chants, niggun, and poetry.
We will also study aspects of traditional service choreography, and traditional and modern interpretations of prayer. Following prayer and practice, we will study the Prophets. The prophetic voice has been central to Reform Judaism. Their voice is timeless. In the turbulent times we live in, it will do all of us well to raise the volume of their call. We aim to complete our Shabbat morning program around 10 A.M.
