Cabaret 2023 – Feb.4
CABARET!!! Saturday, February 4, 2023
After a two-year hiatus, it was delightful for the community to be able to gather in person at Temple Emanu-El’s 8th Annual Cabaret Night on Saturday, February 4, 2023. Over 60 attendees braved the frigid weather and enjoyed appetizers, Havdalah, a variety show and desserts. Thank you for the beautiful voices, soothing music, sentimental and dramatic spoken words, entertaining stories and comedy, not to mention an awe-inspiring Rabbinic juggling act! We are grateful to the following people for sharing their talent and support: Jonathan Rowe, Richard Simonson, Phyllis Holtzman, Barry Weiner, Marc Goldsmith, Sean Bendick, Matthew Barnes, Harvey Schiller, Rabbi Marc Ekstrand, Beca Reinhard, Chris Rock, Hunter Rock, Nathaniel Rowe, Judd Rosen, Jonathan Rowe, Rabbi Susan Schein, Marcia Reinhard, Rachel Levy and Rabbi Ken Alter.
Thank you to Dona Casey for her help in the kitchen and Don Kasper and Roberta Reisner-Winograd for their assistance with our plans. Thanks to our Cabaret Night volunteers who helped with the technical and prep aspects of our event: Sean Bendick, Chris Rock, Hunter Rock, Jonathan Rowe, Nathaniel Rowe, Jennifer Zettler, Scott Zettler and Omer Zohar. Vaccine and Vaccination Forum
Vaccine and Vaccination Forum
Temple Emanu-El hosted a public forum on vaccines and vaccination on Sunday evening, January 31 on Zoom. It is vital to our community that there is a high degree of participation in the current vaccination effort to combat COVID-19. One key to the vaccination program’s success is clear, accurate, and reliable information about the vaccines.
This webinar included a discussion by a panel of experts and time for questions. The panel consisted of the following experts: Jonathan Rowe, Ph.D. who has a wealth of experience regarding pharmaceutical clinical trial quality performance; Dr. Kevin Torres, who is an emergency physician and Associate Chief Medical Officer at Lawrence and Memorial Hospital; Dr. Ethan Weiner, who currently participates in the Medical Reserve Corps with Ledge Light Health District and also has extensive experience in clinical trial design, implementation, data analysis, as well as participated on independent safety monitoring boards, as well as Jennifer Muggeo and Kris Magnussen from Ledge Light Health District. Rabbi Marc Ekstrand moderated the panel and take questions from the audience.
